STERLING NIELLO WARE ENAMEL BRACELET

Silver and black Siam Niello enameling  was popularized in the 1950s.  Areas are carved out of the sterling silver and filled with a sulfur metal power and baked to a high gray-black gloss.  The figure is Mekkala, the Goddess of Lightning. This is a very nice quality, with intricate piercing through the frames of each link.  Hidden box clasp.  BRACELET length is  7 9/16 inch x 1 inch.   Each link is slightly domed.  Excellent condition vintage costume jewelry marked 925 silver with maker's initials A.B.

Lovely treasure from about 1920.  Victorian influence is seen in the dangles but the scrolls & skinny mil grain finished knife edge is pure Edwardian.  Shape is reminiscent of a cuckoo clock.   The marcasites were properly hand set, and all are still in place.  The center is a black glass or onyx plaque and above it is a chrysoprase-green, faceted glass stone.  Marked 925,  early latching C clasp, about 3 1/4 inches, vintage jewelry in very good condition.

HOPI MUD MEN FIGURALS ~ COPPER CUFF BRACELET

Wide cuff bracelet with three black panels with the mud men gods in relief.  Hopi myth has it that the mud men emerged after the Great Flood, and the Great Flood was generated to erase a mistake by another God.  The mud men were also adopted by the Zuni indians and are rife with symbols.  The BRACELET is marked Solid Copper cast in one piece, 2 inches wide at the top tapering to 1 inch.  Surface is lightly worn and shows light scuffing.   The faces look dark, not from wear but because  they have a crosshatch texture ..   Fits an average wrist 6 1/2 - 7 inches.    Vintage costume jewelry circa 1950.
